Is your disposer always getting jammed?  As disposers get older, the bearings wear out, causing the grinding plate to get stuck against the inside wall of the grinding chamber.  Sometimes  the disposer will jam because the motor doesn't have enough power to "start" the grinding plate spinning.  In both cases, unless the disposer is still in warranty, the best option is to replace the unit as repairs are costly and often impossible.  If the disposer side of the sink keeps getting clogged, you may need a new disposer.
