Aquamedic has the right sump pump to fit your
needs.
Do you have a finished basement? Do you store
valuables in your basement? What would happen if there
was a power failure? What would happen if your sump pump
failed?
We have emergency back-up pumps that will take over
for your sump pump in the event of a pump or power
failure.
There are two types, battery or water powered.
The battery powered unit utilizes a 12 volt bilge-type
pump, battery, and trickle charger. The pump has good
performance but tends to wear down when used for an extended period
of time during a power outage. There is also maintenance
to perform and possible future battery replacement to
consider. The battery back-up unit is connected to the
discharge pipe of the primary sump pump, utilizing check valves to
insure that the water goes up and out of the building. We feel
that the battery powered unit would be a good choice for homes with
well water or poor water pressure.
There are
two types of water powered units available, basic or
advanced. Both units utilize the same 3/4" municipal water
that supplies your water main and comes out of your
faucets. As long as the water keeps coming through your water
meter, the pump keeps pumping. Best performance is attained
when the water connection is made as close to the meter as possible,
before any pressure reducing valve.
The basic unit
provides protection for low flow (250 to350 gallons per hour) areas
and is connected to the discharge pipe of the primary sump
pump, utilizing check valves to insure that the water goes up
and out of the building. We feel that the basic unit
provides adequate protection in low flow areas at an economical
price.
The advanced
unit provides protection for medium to high flow (750 to 900 gallons
per hour) areas and is piped outside the building independently of
the primary sump pump discharge pipe, avoiding the possibility of
flooding due to a check valve failure. We feel that the
advanced unit provides exceptional protection in medium to high flow
areas at an affordable price. There are higher
performance units available, but they require larger size water
pipe connections to power
them.
